I’m in Tel-Aviv-Yafo תֵּל־אָבִיב-יָפוֹ !!
Gorgeous windows…
Ready to see my very first Israeli falafel ?!
I arrived in Tel Aviv around 7pm after a 24hour journey. First, I flew from Katowice, Poland, to Manchester, England. I spent about 4 hours in downtown Manchester, 4 hours at the airport, before flying to Israel… needless to say, I was hungry, sleepy, and SO excited! After a joyous reunion with my friend (we’ve realized we’ve known each other 12 years!), dropping stuff off, she took me out about two blocks… to the beach.
Just one night shot for you =]
The next morning, we went to get breakfast, complete with cappu e macchiato. Italy has its influence, it seems.
It’s a cute place!
Israeli breakfast! They ran out of shakshuka, but I got to try that later. Some breads, omelet, eggplant, fresh cheese, tuna, herb spread, and Israeli salad.
Then we went around the city and came across a mini concert at Rabin Square. The memorial:
My feet, oh the places you take me…
Right nearby is an outside mall that reminds me of the Embarcadero shopping center in San Francisco. A combination of architecture, choice in greenery typologies, materials, something about it. Here’s a panorama image of the interior space on the upper level.
It even has a water feature.
We resume walking tour!
Apparently it is very common to see parked cars on sidewalks.
This tree. I don’t know what it is, or where it’s from, but its spikes all along its trunk are awesome! It reminds me of durian!
It’s gorrrrgeous. Especially right after raining. We got caught in a torrential downpour =] and I had forgotten how wonderful it was to be caught in a rainstorm.
This cat is so cool. So often we comment on how cats have mittens based on their markings. This one, he has his own kippah =]
Finding swings? Check!
I love the colors…
And then, a night out! Reunited and ready!
